One of the strongest entries in the Resident Evil series for fans & newcomers alike!

Fan of old school Resident Evil? You're going to LOVE this game. New to the Resident Evil series? You're going to LOVE this game. Dislike horror games? You're definitely going to HATE this game.

Resident Evil 7 pays homage to where the original crafted the survival horror genre that so many fans know & love. A true modern survival horror done extremely well, if you’re looking for that next title to do that genre justice look no further. The gameplay is a mix of old school with new school elements that takes the player on a thrilling and horrifying journey.

-Graphics are jaw dropping. Sharp, detailed, and extremely unnerving textures & lighting.
-The various creepy sounds you’ll hear throughout this game will keep you on edge the whole way through. The soundtrack is extremely well done I feel, and was very subtle yet powerful in regards to enhancing the experiences and scenarios.
-The game play is actually extremely fun. Killing enemies is actually extremely satisfying despite the fact that the best option in combat scenarios often at times is fleeing.
_THE STORY* literally the best part of the game in my opinion. The whole time my cousin and I played this game we kept theorizing what would be the situation or what would happen next and we could not pin it at all. The fact that this story leaves you in complete mystery compared to Resident Evil 5/6’s painfully obvious story arcs was a very pleasant surprise and quite the thrilling experience to unravel.
-Had some Resident Evil 4-like gruesome deaths. I didn’t experience nearly the amount that was in RE4 but the few that I did see were pretty…intense.
-There is some replay value in regards to a key point of the story. Not going to give spoilers so take my word for it, especially if you care about the story then it would be worth going through again for this point alone. Also to try again on a harder difficulty setting because why not. I mean I guess you could just YouTube it after beating the game to find out what the difference is but that takes the fun out of it!

-Puzzles are fun and neat but not that challenging in my opinion. Slightly disappointed in regards here.
-I finished the game on the Normal difficulty @ 8.5 hours. I rushed a little in the third act though mainly because I wanted to find out what happened next in the story arc but ultimately in terms of length it’s about average for a game. I suppose for those with busy schedules this could be considered a “Con” even.

**Note: I never write reviews so apologies for my mediocre writing. Also I did NOT try VR so I cannot personally attest to the quality of it. - Customer Reviews: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard - PlayStation 4

Resident Evil as it should be!

Amazing!! They went back to the origin style of re1, getting that bad taste out of our mouths that was RE6 lol. This game is a true horror game!! If you loved the original, you will LOVE this game! - Customer Reviews: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard - PlayStation 4

A Tentpole Experience for Newcomers and Old Fans

Though my reaction was not nearly as extreme as many I witnessed 'round the internet, I certainly can be counted amongst those who were uncertain that the classic "'Resident Evil" flavor could be derived from a first-person gameplay experience that appeared to trade the traditional zombie (and zombie-like) enemy types for Deep South cannibals.

My fears subsided considerably upon the arrival of the Beginning Hour demo, and having now played about halfway through the final game (based upon the average reported completion time), I can certainly attest that this is very much a return to form for the once-venerable series. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that this is the best series entry since the beloved “Resident Evil 2,” and the first-person perspective does nothing to dilute the hallmark elements of the brand: there are safe rooms, item boxes, designated save points (amusingly, typewriters have been “upgraded” to cassette tape recorders!), green herbs, and an overwhelming sense that there are more enemies than ammo. “Resident Evil” is back in full force, and I absolutely wouldn’t have it any other way.

I must also make mention of the fact that I purchased a PSVR headset on 1/26/17 in order to experience this game in the most immersive manner possible, and I cannot recommend highly enough that anyone able to purchase Sony’s virtual reality equipment do so as soon as possible alongside buying a copy of “Resident Evil VII.” Words cannot describe the degree to which you will feel physically present inside the Baker mansion after slipping on the uber-comfortable PSVR headset; once there, your new dilemma becomes deciding whether you’re more anxious to excape… or hopeful to stay forever…

'Resident Evil VII" is an unequivocal must-buy. - Customer Reviews: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard - PlayStation 4
